New partnership between two Lyon manufacturers of eco-responsible products for hairdressing professionals. MARCAPAR and BIOWELS® offer ecological and complementary solutions, allowing hairdressers to use more environmentally friendly alternatives.
MARCAPAR, pioneer of plant-based coloring
Christian and Isabelle Roche, two passionate hairdressers, founded MARCAPAR in 1991. Both have been interested in aromatic and dyeing plants for several years. Through research and by partnering with a chemical engineer, they developed a range of plant-based coloring and natural hair care.
“With MARCAPAR, we offer a modern approach to hairdressing, attached to well-being, respect for people and the environment. Plant-based hair colorist is a new profession, inspired by nature and created by hairdressers for passionate hairdressers. We combine our creativity with the intelligence of plants to best meet the needs of salons and their customers.” Christian Roche
An innovative and committed brand
Like BIOWELS®, MARCAPAR is committed to finding solutions that are ever more respectful of people and the environment.
In 2019, they created RECETTE, an eco-responsible shampoo-care product to reconstitute yourself. An innovative concept to reduce the consumption and transport of water, present at 80% in a conventional shampoo. MARCAPAR also works to ensure that its products do not pollute the water evacuated from hair salons.
Plant-based hair colorist, a job with a future
Thanks to their certified training organization, the Institution Végétale , MARCAPAR offers an expert training course, throughout the year, throughout France. Each hairdresser is supported in their learning of plants in a personalized and creative way!
Today, MARCAPAR is present in more than 850 partner salons.

BIOWELS®, Innovation at the service of the Environment… and hairdressers
The concept was born in 2020 during the COVID-19 health crisis. Many hairdressers were forced to put aside their cotton linen and use disposable products (of poor quality and from Asia) to deal with hygiene issues (transmission of bacteria). However, disposable products had a quality, no more linen management and washing machines. Yes, but at what price?
A dilemma immediately arose for hairdressers: use disposable linen that is hygienic but unsuitable for professionals (not very absorbent and resistant, unsightly) and polluting (plastic-based) or return to cotton linen that is unhygienic and time-consuming, costly and energy-intensive to manage?
It took 18 months of R&D (prototypes, tests with professionals) for BIOWELS® to unveil its uncompromising solution: an ultra-absorbent and resistant towel, eco-designed from FSC wood fibers, biocompostable and made in France.
As soon as it was presented, it was rewarded! Just 6 months after its launch, our hairdressing towel was named the 2022 MCB Innovation Award.
A strong promise: save energy by eliminating laundry management
BIOWELS® did not stop there and expanded its range with a hairdressing cape, eco-designed from vegetable starch, and biocompostable (named Impact2023 Prize at BS LYON). BIOWELS® products have a major advantage, they do not require water, electricity or additives and do not contribute to pollution. No more laundry management, save time and money, while having a positive impact on the preservation of the planet.
This partnership reflects a shared desire of MARCAPAR and BIOWELS® to encourage their users to strengthen their CSR commitment through new complementary alternatives that are more respectful of the environment. What is our advice for reducing your energy consumption and improving your salon's eco-score? Combine eco-responsible solutions!
